Becky LynLyra Valkyria at WWE Backlash 2025

What We Can Expect Going Forward

According to BetOnline, Becky Lynch is currently the odds-on favorite to defeat Lyra Valkyria and win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Backlash. This development follows the tension that’s been building between the two since WrestleMania 41. But twists are coming.

Originally, Lyra was scheduled to team with Bayley at WrestleMania 41 to take on the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. However, Bayley was mysteriously attacked backstage and pulled from the match. Becky Lynch stepped in to replace Bayley, marking her highly anticipated return to WWE. Becky and Lyra went on to win the tag titles at WrestleMania but lost them the very next night on WWE RAW. That’s when Becky shockingly turned heel on Lyra.

Becky later admitted she was the one who injured Bayley on purpose, claiming she still held a grudge against The Role Model for past actions. According to Becky, Bayley never apologized for trying to ruin her career years ago. “The Man” took several personal shots at Bayley, which prompted Lyra—the true babyface—to step up and defend Bayley’s honor. She attacked Big Time Becks, setting the stage for their showdown at Backlash.

As the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Lyra has done a decent job representing the title. But now she faces her biggest challenge in Becky Lynch. If rumors are to be believed, Becky is expected to win the title and emerge as a dominant heel champion, with Lyra positioned as the underdog babyface chasing redemption.

However, another twist could be Bayley’s potential return. Reports suggest her injury might be part of the storyline. If The Role Model shows up at Backlash, she could cost Becky the title and help Lyra retain.

A more chaotic possibility involves Becky’s husband, Seth Rollins, and his new faction. If they interfere and assist Becky in winning, she could align with the group—alongside Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker—marking a major power shift in WWE.
